Description
Panoramic photo of the earthworks to the west of the original entrance at the southeast corner of the hourglass-shaped hillfort. The inner rampart turns in at the entrance and the outer rampart also turns inwards and meets the inner rampart.

The sky & the landscape remind me so much of my trip to Ashridge and Ivinghoe Beacon. I guess the autumnal equinox is a certain light. I got some great sunset pics as well!

Last time I went here was close to the winter solstice, the sun was just setting - quite the opposite of this very bright midday light. In the distance, lost in the haze, are other Hampshire hillforts such as Woolbury and Danebury.
