Description
The pile of rubble that supports an 'artists' community in the foothills of Liguria, near San Remo.
Formally a Roman settlement, Bussana Vecchia, (it means twice healthy!).
I came across this Roman sculpture/water spout, hidden away up a cobbled back alley.
Dedicated to all those on this site, who love the ancient world and those stones that tell of long gone civilizations ...

Thanks Ethelwulf, but it does look kind of demonic! I wouldn't want to come across it in the dark - or daylight, come to think of it! (Perhaps you added the red eyes?)

Yes - I debated whether to upload the original, but the artist in me won...and I obviously added the demonic eyes.
This is a tiny part (Crop) of a large and otherwise dull photo, taken in Bussana vecchia, in Italy near the French border.
An ugly sprawl of medieval buidings, in an otherwise beautiful part of Liguria.
Thanks very much for the encouragement, Angie,
