I was staying in a holiday cottage a mile away from the stone, which I approached from the valley below Nether Hindhope, following the quad bike tracks on foot up to the local burn, and then following that up to the gate. Description
Close up of the fallen standing stone. I was staying in a holiday cottage a mile away from the stone, which I approached from the valley below Nether Hindhope, following the quad bike tracks on foot up to the local burn, and then following that up to the gate. It took me a couple of attempts to find the stone, but its location should have been a giveaway, it would have been prominent on a small ridge when standing, overlooking the whole valley giving superb views of Woden Law and Hindhope hill.
