Face A (top) and D (side/bottom of photo) of AS Corpus Hart 01, part of the upper part of a cross shaft dated to the mid tenth century. The Corpus describes face A as: "(i) A neatly laid out six-strand plain plait (left hand side) (ii) A man on horseback facing left. He holds a spear in his hand, and his hair is knotted behind. The horse's head and neck are raised; its ear is pricked up (right hand side)."
