The little island of Ile Coalen is just offshore from the mainland at the northwest entry to the Trieux river estuary. The island can be reached by walking from the mainland when the tide is out. 

On the beach at the southwestern corner of the island are the remains of an allée couverte, which can be seen on the beach to the right of this picture.
