Description
Part of the chasm of Lud's Church in Staffordshire; a wondrous location, inspiring, and very earthy feeling.
There is a simulacrum of a face at Lud's Church, to be found near the end of the southern fork of the chasm. This is reputedly the image of Sir Gawain (red face), and opposing him is The Green Knight, a green face. This other face, supposedly of the Green Knight, is harder to make out but is arguably there. Lud's Church is claimed to be the location where the two fought each other.

Photo has been adjusted for light conditions, BTW, hence grainy texture. It's in Staffordshire, not at all far from the border with Cheshire at SJ987656.
