A simulacrum of a face at Lud's Church, to be found near the end of the southern fork of the chasm. This is reputedly the image of Sir Gawain (red face), and opposing him is The Green Knight, a green face. This other face, supposedly of the Green Knight, is harder to make out but is arguably there. Lud's Church is claimed to be the location where the two fought each other.

Pete, sorry - not prehistory, so it's in a general gallery. It's in Staffordshire, not at all far from the border with Cheshire at SJ987656. On the shortest approach allow 2 hours round walk, if you know exactly where to go.

Pete - was it you I messaged with about the Wall Hillfort in Shropshire? Get in touch for when you come over if you like - I'm not too far away from Lud's Church, and it can be a challenge to find. I'd like to spend time there. There's a good amount of history to be had not too far away either.
