Description
Our guide (must find out his name) describes how the excavation was carried out. The entire sandy surface you can see here is a mesolithic land surface, originally covered by many feet of topsoil

The guide is Phil Jones, the site director, a senior archaeologist at the Surrey County Archaeological Unit (now known as the Surrey Heritage Enterprise Team!)
