Description
Site in Kujawsko-pomorskie Poland. Collection of four "Prussian Hag" (""Baba Pruska") stones and one stele marking a burial (the stone pictured far left). The hags are from various parts of the Ilawski district of northern Poland, from sites inhabited by people of the old Prussian culture. These are not dated on the accompanying signs but the stele is dated to the first to second century AD and is from Czarnowka, near Warsaw. The tallest of the five stones is 1.5 metres high. The collection sits on the harbourside at Dlugie Pobrzeze, Gdansk, outside the archaeological museum.
