Building MA-9 bounds the north part of the Southeast Plaza of the Ah May Group. Its principal facade, which look to the north, extends out excessively because a large open esplanade, constituting the Northeast Plaza, was found in front of it.
Building MA-9 is a palace-type and was built during the Terminal Classic period (750-1050 A.D.), final era of cultural splendor of the city of Oxkintok.
