Jungfernhoehle bei Tiefenellern ( Virgin's Cave )
Die Jungfernhöhle in der Fränkischen Schweiz ist ein neolithischer Kultplatz der Bandkeramiker (Jungsteinzeit).
Es wurden darin ca. 6150 Jahre alte Skelett- und Schädelreste von mind. 40 Menschen gefunden.
In der Gegend existieren Sagen über umherspukende kopflose Jungfrauen im Bereich der Höhle.
The Virgin's Cave (Jungfernhoehle) in the Franconian Switzerland is a Neolithic ritual place of the Linear Pottery Culture (an early Neolithic culture).
Inside there were found about 6150 years old skeletal and cranial remains of at least 40 people.
There are legends about headless young women haunting the area around the cave.
