Klis Hillfort

The original Iron Age Hillfort at Klis was continuously occupied until the Turks withdrew from the Balkans, consequently, there is little original left at Klis.
Klis itself was strategic, as it controlled the only viable pass from the inland to the Sea near Split or Salona.
