Description
This entry, an artist view of the stone with the medieval city of Tienen as background, does not add much to the historical research about the Lovensteen (Leeuwensteen). It reproduces the complete etching by F. Runk, of which recently only a detail is generally presented (limited to the stone and the windmill and ignoring the cart on the left).
This medal attests that this former huge landmark, albeit disappeared without a trace (it probably ended up as pavement of roads), has recently drawn some attention.
Engraver of the medal : P.Huybrechts. 1968.
