Description
Skyreholme, Burhill Ridge SE0840362226
This large rock sits on Burhill Ridge, a couple of hundred meters north of cup markings in Burhill Kiln Allotment. The top of the stone has some cup like marks & grooves on it, but whether they’re natural or not, couldn’t be decided by Paul Bennett, Graeme Chappell, or myself.
Far more interestingly is what lies on the underside of the south edge, Paul Bennett rediscovered what appears to be some carved dagger shapes, which are unfamiliar to this part of country. They certainly didn’t appear to be natural & the layout is similar to those recently discovered on Stonehenge.
