Long Barrow with Chambered Tomb near Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt
Deep in the woods of Tangeln, a well preserved Long Barrow.
Area has been cleaned not too long ago.
Size of the barrow 23,6m x 5,2m (NW) / 6,4m (SE).
Number of kerbstones apprx. 38.
Two fallen guardian stones (Wächter) at the corners of the south end.
They are overgrown and hard to see.
In the NW end of the barrow, a Chambered Tomb.
The chamber is deep in the ground.
Size apprx. 5m x 1.8m; build with 4 orthostats on
each of the long sides.
Four capstones, two of them have sunken down and are overgrown.
