Description
Shown on Ordnance survey maps as "Tumulus"
this is a bowl and saucer barrow, but has unfortunately lost a chunk, as it has been cut by the track. Apparently this has had some excavation done, and can be clearly seen by depressions in it. It is quite large, being about 120 feet in circumference, but easy to miss due to the vegetation growing on it. The National Trust say it is of a type that is very rare in Cumbria.
