Re: Quesera de Bravo by BillCar on Monday, 06 March 2006

I only saw this site marked on one atlas, on most road maps it's omitted.

Quesera de Bravo can be found on the LZ-1 road, very close to the crossroads for Cueva de los Verdes and Jameos del Agua. There's a tiny, gravel covered path (on a bend) about 100m south of the crossroads, just big enough to park a car in. From there the site is a 50m trek west, across the rocks, towards the mountains.

Due to the built up sides it's hard to see the site until you're right on top of it. Plus there's 3 or 4 other big piles of rocks nearby - but should only take 5 mins of exploring.

There's surprisingly little information to be found on the island about the site, though the locals at the Caves and Jameos del Agua seem to know about it. There is one photograph of it on display in the Jameos del Agua (it's in the volcano museum part), but nothing I could find in guide books or at the tourism office.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
