In general, I found this year's gathering to be remarkably mellow in
comparison to the previous years. Yes there was some wildness that
was socially abrasive, but I this was minimal relative to the size of
the gathering.
I am really sad to hear about this incident, because for you, it was a disaster and completely spoiled the gathering.
The daytime/nightime balance was created to address the needs of
families and children, hopefully as we move to a more sensible
conversation regarding the amount of time we have to celebrate
amongst the stones, the less frantic will be the race to grab what we
can from the tiny window that is permitted right now.
Respect for the stones is purely conceptual, screaming and yelling,
processing feelings without restraint is the most powerful form of
healing and will get us from A to B the fastest
ceremony may if it is really focussed touch on this space of release
for a moment.
without ceremony this release/healing is spontaneously occuring for
thousands.
a balance has to be struck to encompass all the different ways that
people reach this point of release, from partying to ceremony - all
across the compass.
10 hours of access does not allow this to happen in an organic
fashion.
the ball is in english heritages court as to how serious they are
about moving the peace process forward.
