Can I just point out that the main point of this proposal is to concentrate on what could be done in the short term, irrespective of the main controversy - which it has got glued to, for no good reason.
Nicola's vision of walking across the downland etc etc is achievable, cheaply and soon, if only we all push for it (with the exception of the A303 of course, which may yet take decades to sort out).
"Achievable Stonehenge" was hatched across several forums and newsgroups, but it can belong to the whole megalithic community if they'll stick together, try not to argue about the minor details or get sidetracked down the interminable A303 argument.
