Re: Swarkestone Lows by Infinite_Fate on Saturday, 31 December 2005

To be perfectly honest I would say Derby (its Chellaston suburb at any rate) is the closest town.

Car access is up a small road and the barrows (or what remains of them) are in a field immediately to the right of the road with a narrow farm track turning in front of it. Alternatively there's a relatively straightforward cycle across Sinfin Moor (no height to gain despite the name) coming from the Derby side of the A50 (a bridge crosses this).

When I went the neighbour of the field's owner thought it would be okay for me to go in the field and take photos - which I'll post (a) when I find 'em and (b) when i work out how to! :-)

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
