I made the mistake once of thinking that a group of stones in the corner of a field near Lambourn, berks was an "undiscovered" monument (it wasnt marked on the OS map). Only to find later after contacting the county archaeologist, making several trips to the site and speaking to several locals that it was just a pile of stones! The farmer told me that it was all the sarcens that he had hit with his plough over the years and had just dragged them to the side of his field.

Glory beckoned for one bright minute...
