Re: Lundy Settlement by AngieLake on Thursday, 07 May 2026

I grew up in Braunton, 3 miles from the coast at Saunton Sands, and Lundy was a constant view as we cycled around to the beaches up there in North Devon [inc Croyde and Down End].
We used to have Lundy stamps and Lundy coins, though never used them, and I've no idea where they went after my parents sold the shop and moved to their new house in the village.

I never did get to visit the island, believe it or not! About 35 years ago, while living in S.Devon, my younger son and I camped at Croyde and drove to Ilfracombe to catch the boat to Lundy, only to find that they weren't taking day-trippers as the tide would be wrong for leaving later.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
