Final report on post excavation work from the 2008 excavations at Yellowmead Down, Sheepstor, Dartmoor By Kayt L Armstrong
This report presents the findings from the 2008 archaeological excavations at Yellowmead Down, Sheepstor, Dartmoor, which aimed to clarify previously identified geophysical anomalies related to a stone monument. Employing geophysical surveys integrated with limited excavations, the study sought to confirm existing interpretations and explore the potential existence of prior monuments and features below the peat layer. The outcomes revealed ambiguities regarding the original form and construction sequence of the monument, underscoring the need for further ground-truthed research in peatland environments.
