The path to Blackford Hill Rock Art starts at the Edinburgh Royal Observatory on Blackford Hill. Take the path W from the car park for c. 400 yards to reach the Blackford Hill Transmitter Mast. Bypass the fenced off buildings on the S heading W for stairs going down the hill. Halfway down a faint path across the slope heads NW for a hawthorn tree. The rock alcove containing the rock art is close to the hawthorn tree. My route is viewable on Blackford Hill Rock Art
