Smashing spot, one of the best hidden and tranquil areas around and just 10 minutes walk from the centre of Milnsbridge. I'd love to know a bit more about the quarry workers and building of this well. I'm assuming the well is related to some sort of drainage from the quarry on top of the hill. Wouldn't mind knowing more about why this place is so mystical. The well is rumoured to take unsuspecting do-gooders. I wouldn't be surprised if there were tunnels leading to Castle Hill underneath.
