Stone 5 at SE 52421 98173 - It would appear there are also two stones at this location, one fallen. This 2023 IMAGE by Mike Rayner on Geographic clearly shows this, with the fallen stone probably being a C18 or earlier marker.
I am not sure how I missed this or may be I didn’t and had forgotten about it as it is some nine years between my visit and subsequent submission of the description to this site page.

It could also be that I wasn’t paying too much attention to what I was looking at as I wasn’t in the area to particularly check out these stones, its just as they were next to the shooters track I took the opportunity to take photos of them as I walked along it. Images I took on that day and submitted to this site page see PID 271883 clearly shows what I now know is the base of the fallen stone at the bottom of the C19 monolith, whilst the rest of the stone looks to be covered in heather so perhaps I didn’t appreciate what it was at the time.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
