Re: Huncote Stone by Anonymous on Tuesday, 29 August 2023

I am a Honeycutt by birth, and I have also traced my ancestry to William Huncote who emigrated in 1635, though my Honeycutt answers were in North Carolina. I stumbled on this site while trying to verify the connection between Huncote and Honeycutt, as many genealogical records seem to be based on leaps of faith. But now I need to visit the Huncote Stone! I have been to the Rollright Stones, West Kennet long barrow and Belas Knap, and I find these less famous sites more compelling than the famous ones.
I'm sorry to have missed George by 16 years, but I'm glad to have found this charming site!
