Menhires prehistóricos en el sector nororiental de la Meseta Norte Española. Análisis espacial concerniente a la hipótesis de una alineación estructurada y sincrónica

In the northeast area of the Spanish Northern Meseta there are known 15 standing stones disposed as a 50 km alignment. The archaeological excavations developed in 5 of them have confirmed its prehistoric chronology. Here we intend to test the hypothesis that argues there was a planned distribution of standing stones from the point of view of the spatial analysis. Our approach is focused on inquiring about the locational strategies of the standing stones and the inner organisation of the alignment in aspects such as its relation with water resources, the least-cost pathways or the viewshed. The results show that the standing stones are located in visible places and at regular intervals of a good route which links the plains with the high valleys of the mountains.
