Re: Ardcorkey by Anonymous on Sunday, 06 April 2003

Ardcorky is quite a ways north of the coordinates given, that is, M 1741. That would put it about 3 miles SE of Oughterard, Co. Galway. There is a stone circle quite close to this set of coordinates (within a mile or so), but I'm awaiting a more precise location from someone there who will be contacting me soon. The Galway location is probably the one mentioned by Wilde in his Lough Corrib book of about 1840. By the way, Ardcorky is in segment M, but is at about 2481.
