Directions

A77 N: From the Northern edge of Ayr go straight through Whitletts roundabout (easier said than done) for 1.5 miles (A77 Exit). Go straight through Holmston roundabout for c. 1 mile (A77 Exit). Go straight through Bankfield roundabout for c. 0.75 mile (A77 Exit). Go Straight past A79 Ayr Road for 0.4 mile. Take the next R turn for Alloway/Doonfoot. After c. 0.5 mile on Doonholm Road take the second exit at a mini roundabout passing the Welcome to Alloway sign. Continue to end of Doonholm road after c. 0.5 mile. Turn L for Doonfoot/Heads of Ayr. After 100 yards take the second exit onto Greenfield Avenue. After c. 0.5 mile, at the end of Greenfield Avenue, take the first exit on a mini roundabout, heading for Doonfoot/Heads of Ayr. Stay on Dunure Road for 0.4 mile to reach the Stonefield Park junction. Turn L into Stonefield Park. The stone is about 50 yards on the L in a small patch of grass.

A77 S: Take the L turn for Alloway/ Doonfoot on approaching the S edge of Ayr. After c. 0.5 mile on Doonholm Road take the second exit at a mini roundabout passing the Welcome to Alloway sign. Continue to end of Doonholm road after c. 0.5 mile. Turn L for Doonfoot/Heads of Ayr. After 100 yards take the second exit onto Greenfield Avenue. After c. 0.5 mile, at the end of Greenfield Avenue, take the first exit on a mini roundabout, heading for Doonfoot/Heads of Ayr. Stay on Dunure Road for 0.4 mile to reach the Stonefield Park junction. Turn L into Stonefield Park. The stone is about 50 yards on the L in a small patch of grass.
