Re: Cocker Cobb by DavidHoyle on Thursday, 13 February 2020

[Thanks David. Grid ref now up-dated. Admin]. I have talked to Chris Aspin about this site and have the following comments:
"The road between Haslingden and Knuzden [Blackburn] may well have gone through the site. There was, maybe still is, a single thin stone on the upper side. On the other side, the field walls are cobs [local word for lumps, as in coal] unlike the usual stones in dry stone walls. These may have formed a circle. There are no obvious hollows in the field,, as at the 13 Stones circle."
I believe the current position is slightly out and the most likely position of this circle should be moved to 53.723968,-2.397743 (SD7385225360).

The single remaining stone is still there which is good.
