Re: Blarney Dolmen by Anne T on Wednesday, 20 February 2019

Whilst visiting the ground of Blarney Castle, don't forget to visit the infamous Blarney Stone - located a few feet below the top of the tower of the castle. See the Journal of Antiquities entry for The Blarney Stone, Blarney Castle, Co. Cork, Southern Ireland.

The Journal tells us that whilst the Blarney Stone was placed in its current location in the 15th century, its origin is debated; there are a number of legends associated with the stone:

1. it comes from Israel where it may have been used as a pillow by the prophet Jacob;
2. it was struck by Moses to get water for his fellow travellers;
3. St Columba is associated with the stone; or
4. it was once part of the Stone of Scone.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
