Glossop Heritage Centre ran for many years and objects in the display come and go as do volunteers.
The cyberia website claims the disc was assayed by Cookson a bullion company (which still exists in Birmingham) and found to contain Cornish gold and copper. This was supposedly in 1998 long before the Nebra disc was discovered. There was an excavation conducted over several years in the 1960s at Mouselow (Derbyshire Archaeological Journal archive). Glossop Heritage Centre had the excavation notes. M. Brown mentioned keeping 'a watching brief' on the site.
Now for the spooky bit. If you draw a line between Mouselow Castle and Melandra Castle and extend it right over Torside Castle on the moors above Woodhead it's yards from where the USAF Flying Superfortress crashed due to 'navigational error'. Carry it east over the moors and it crosses Stocksbridge Bypass notorious for accidents and unexplained happenings.
A bit more research needed? We've no idea what the sky discs are for, just that they've each got a 'sun ship' on them.
