Accordingly to the ongoing research project the site has three main occupational periods - the Early Bronze Age (Otomani culture), Late Bronze-Early Iron Age and LaTene period. New excavations in 2015-2018 revealed remains of the massive stone fortifications dated to ca. 1750 BC. They display the same stilistic traits as the others oldest examples of defensive stone architecture in Central Europe, especially Monkodonia hillfort on the Adriatic coast.
