I wondered about lone women travellers in the UAE and found this really helpful guide. Nowhere near as bad as I thought, visitors are not required to wear a headscarf and are allowed to wander around on their own. Like any country, however, it's good to be aware of their traditions and this guide gives some great advice on how to be sensible and avoid unwanted attention.
