It's a fascinating journey. I didn't know the UK and Ireland had this many interesting megalithic sites. Exploring the ones closest to me will be made much easier thanks to this excellent guide.

My wife and I are inveterate visitors to old Stone Circles - our favourite being Castlerigg in Cumbria, along with the West Kennet Long Barrow and the magnificent Avebury.
This is a glorious book with photos, maps, directions, ancient lore - just a wonderful arm-chair book AND a book to take on travelling - I didn't realise that the UK is saturated with ancient stone monuments...

The Best Ever 24 September 2018
I have many books on this subject, but finding these places is often a problem...... Not anymore this is the most comprehensive book ever on the old stones in the UK. Enjoyable and easy to read. Covers most (though not all) of the sites, standing stones, circles, cairns and stone rows. Maps too..........a firm favourite of mine now.
