What a book this is and what a project to take on. I've spent ages looking through it already and envisage many more hours to come. Put together with careful thought , it's got colour photos [lots], maps, articles, quotes, how to get there and much more. What it is not, more than anything, is dry. I'm no archaeologist or historian, goodness knows, but I do like finding out about things I see in the landscape. I live in Wiltshire, which has more than its fair share of old stones but there are one or two here that I didn't know about. And why so many in Cornwall, Pembrokeshire, Anglesey, Cumbria and the Northern Isles? Geography is a clue but then what about Derbyshire? Questions abound.
10 Best Burial Mounds? There's a list. 10 Best in out of the way places? Listed. I like its style very much, it looks like a lot of thought has gone into it. It'll certainly make me look into it before any UK holiday. It's expensive [and heavy!] but an awful lot of work has gone into it. I think it's brilliant and a book to treasure. The people behind it are to be congratulated.
