Eugene Barnett, 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs, in the Dayton Daily News, about Adena Mounds being preserved by Wright Patterson Air Force Base at Dayton, Ohio, with several federally-recognised tribes in ongoing consultation about their significance and care. These mounds and those on the grounds of the Wright Brothers Memorial are thought to have been placed in relation to one another.
Archeologist stresses need to preserve Adena mounds at Wright-Patt
“We are always looking for means to preserve them,” he [Erwin Roemer, Air Force Civil Engineer Center archeologist assisting the base] said. “We appreciate the importance of the early Native Americans and the heritage they represent.”
