Re: Gibbet Moor North by Anne T on Monday, 08 October 2018

This stone circle is included in the scheduling for Historic England List ID 1019000, described as a "Bronze Age settlement and ceremonial remains on Gibbet Moor, 980m north east of Swiss Cottage." Included in the large area scheduled are hut circle settlements, clearance cairns, small farms with field systems, and a cairn cemetery. Interestingly, HE also notes that "within the complex of prehistoric features are the more recent remains of military training during World War II." Sounds like a fascinating place to visit!
