Far less visited than Cairnholy 1, the upper cairn is in much better nick. The capstone is still in place with its propping stones, and shows how the chamber was constructed.
The two cairns 1 and 2 are intervisible. From Cairnholy 2 look SSW Cairnholy 1 and over to Whithorn and the Isle of Man.
