George Nash writes: We (the Welsh Rock Art Organisation) will be running a week-long excavation at Trellyfaint from 22nd to 29th April 2018.
Trellyffaint is a Neolithic chambered tomb which stands in west Pembrokeshire, to the north of Newport. We carried out geophysical surveys in 2015 and 2016 and, as some of you already know, revealed an interesting set of sub-surface anomalies including a probable henge, just one of the features we plan to excavate this April.
Fancy joining us?
The week will include full training in excavation and survey techniques, accommodation in cottages near to the site, breakfast and basic packed lunch ingredients each day plus most evening meals, (we will eat out or have takeaway on a couple of evenings). We will provide good company, good food, good fun and.......good weather. [Ha Ha - you hope! - MegP Ed]
The cost will be £495. Places are limited and will only be confirmed on receipt of a £100 deposit.
We will be posting this on social media so please shout now if you want to be part of the WRAO team for 2018.
All the best
