It is now 27 years since I introduced the custom of well dressing at St Margaret's Broomfield. Each year, through the efforts of Derek Hadlow, the Verger and friends from Kingswood the well has been dressed to commemorate a particular event or anniversary in the year in question - in 2015, the introduction of a new bell to the church tower. The well dressing and service takes place on the Sunday nearest to St Margaret's Day, 20 July.
