I went to Mesa Verde in 2011 it was a stunning place. I also visited petroglyphs along the side of the Colorado River near Arches National Park, pueblo's at Canyon de Chelly New Mexico, Wukoki & Lomaki pueblo's in Wupatki National Monument, and Walnut Canyon cliff dwellings. Arizona, New Mexico, western Colorado and Utah is full of this stuff, and most of it is now protected.
