Re: Castallack Carn by John_Kenton on Thursday, 02 April 2015

This is certainly one of the harder ones to find. Upon visiting the area in July last year, I was unable to find a path to the stone, with vegetation in full bloom and no path apparent. Had a bit more luck in April this year, made my way from the Roundago westward, fighting down some nasty brambles and undergrowth along the way. The stone itself is covered with lichen and clover (?), it is only visible upon closer approach. If you follow the OS map, it lies just in the northwest corner of the field directly to the west of the Roundago. Probably best visited in spring or autumn and avoided in summer, when it is nearly obliterated.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
