Re: Powburn Rock Art by davidmorgan on Sunday, 21 September 2014

From Anne T:

Ingram is a pretty little village sitting on the edge of Northumberland National Park and on the River Breamish.

This stone sits immediately outside the front door of the Muddy Boots cafe and gift shop (previously the Tourist Information Centre, previously the old school) which is right next to the River Breamish. When we visited there were no notes as to where this stone had come from, although the surrounding area was excavated in the 1990s.

Ingram is a good base from which to do the Breamish Valley Hill Fort Trail, which is superb, and relatively easy walking along marked trails. The Trail takes in Ewe Hill, Middle Dean, Cochrane Pike, Wether Hill, Turf Knowe and Brough Law.

The cafe wasn't open when we visited, although I understand that it houses other artefacts from the excavations.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
