I attended my grandson's Nativity play last Christmas, complete with camera etc. The Head stood up at the beginning to lay down one or two ground rules. Contrary to what I expected, he was pleased for parents to take movies/photographs of the performance - stating that it was part of their school life/ growing up and should be recorded. A refreshing attitude I thought, having been told by other teachers that classroom photographs must not show the faces of the pupils and that the mobile phones that take photographs were also banned.
