"While looking around for information and stories about this monument, I came across some great images of the standing stones during the 2005 G8 summit that was held in the nearby fancy hotel and golf complex of Gleneagles. The stone setting was on the route of the ‘G8 Alternatives’ march and some of the protesters tarried there for a while, one megaphone-bearing guy using the stone as a prop to lean on, the groove proving useful as a footrest."
