Peyreficade Menhir by alchemille on Saturday, 23 November 2013

Peyreficade means standing stone in Occitan. Peyreficade is a little hamlet along the D8 (departmental road 8), the menhir is in a private property.
The menhir is visible from the road as a prominent stone in the middle of a field. It is easy to found because it is also signed posted and it is well known in the Cantal (Auvergne)
The hamlet of Peyreficade is found between the towns of Vézac and Carlat along the D990 and following the D8 to the village of Labrousse.
Playing with Google Earth I obtained the following coordinates: 44.5305 North, 2.32358 East. [Coordinates updated to 44.881005 N, 2.542671 E]

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
