My family and I took quite a few photos in and around London, Stonehenge and Avebury last summer. No one seemed to mind. Perhaps the secret is to wear touristy-looking clothing, do a lot of gawking and pointing, and act like you're not certain where you are or where you're going. They'll just assume you're one of us crazy Yanks and leave you alone. :-)
