No mention of him being the Head of History at Armold Barton-le-Clay ( 2 miles from Ravensburgh itself) c 1980 - THAT is what inspired my interest (and now 30yrs later, my son's) in ancient history. Who would ever had realised Bedfordshire could have been the hub of roman activity. I have always had a passion for roman history but never relaised -living a couple of miles from Ravensburgh) that Caeser may have walked the same land as I do know. In 1980 I paid a fortune to visit Rome/Athens to get the experience of KNOWING you can tread where those have trod before you, and all the time if was within walking distance. AMAZING, INSPIRING, UNBELEIVEABLE! only the true history dorks will understand where I am coming from!!! Excellent site!!!
